The Special Competitive Studies Project (SCSP) and the Royal United Services Institute (RUSI) convened their third and final roundtable discussion focused on Human-Machine Collaboration (HMC) and Human-Machine Teaming (HMT) in Military Operations.
This roundtable discussion brought together prominent defense leaders and technologists from the United States and United Kingdom to examine implementation considerations for the most promising capabilities for HMT and HMC in the United States and United Kingdom.
As SCSP’s Mid-Decade Challenges to National Competitiveness and Defense Interim Panel Report highlight, one of the most promising applications of emerging technologies for military advantage is human-machine collaboration and teaming.
The policy and implementation plan from this project will be provided to key stakeholders in the United States and United Kingdom militaries to consider promising capabilities for integration in their respective and joint operations.
“The Marines are leading the way with transformative thinking in the U.S. military and we very much look forward to sharing our final conclusions and report with them, as RUSI also shares the report with the UK Ministry of Defense,” said SCSP President and CEO Ylli Bajraktari.

It is even more important today as we face the systemic challenge posed by China. Cooperation between like-minded countries will be vital to our success,” said RUSI Deputy-General Malcolm Chalmers.
